Tamil Nadu: 11 killed in liquor factory blast, PM expresses grief
Chennai: A fire broke out at a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu on Friday evening, killing 11 people. While more than 14 injured are being shown. It is being shown that there was a sudden explosion in the factory located in Virudhnagar. Upon learning of the incident, the fire brigade reached the spot and efforts are being made to control the fire. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident. The Prime Minister has announced assistance of Rs 2 lakh through the National Aid Fund for the families who lost their lives in the accident.
A police official present at the scene said the blast happened at a time when some chemicals were being mixed to prepare the bar. An initial report from the fire brigade said about 14 people were injured.

The Prime Minister's Office has tweeted that a fire at a distillery factory in Virdhunagar, Tamil Nadu is tragic. This is my consolation with the family in this sad time. Hopefully those who have been injured will recover soon. The PM informed that the authority is working to help the victims in the incident.

The PMO said the PMNRF has approved Rs 2 lakh assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in Virudhnagar, Tamil Nadu. 50 thousand rupees will be given to the seriously injured. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also expressed grief over the incident.
